General Construction
The construction of a pool table should be made of hardwoods, not chip board, not particle board, or M.D.F. board.
The table should be constructed to meet (or exceed) the specifications set by the Billiards Congress of America (BCA). The BCA is the governing body that sets billiards regulations and standards.
According to the specifications set forth by the BCA:
The playing surface should be a minimum of 1” thick, three-piece slate with wood backing of at least ¾”. The surface should be secured to the base frame using bolts or screws.
Cushion Rubber should be triangular in shape and molded in a K-66 profile with a control groove and canvas control fabric molded to the top and base area of the cushion.

Slate
Buckhorn Billiards uses a 1 1/4" oversized, diamond-honed
slate with a 3/4" backing. Our slate is 25% thicker than
industry average and custom manufactured for purity and function.
Utilizing a top frame, we secure our slate to our cabinet
and rails to assure quiet, accurate play.

Cabinets
Buckhorn cabinets are built with 100% American sourced wood,
air-nailed and glued for perfect frame stability (this
process can not be duplicated on shipped or imported tables).
Buckhorn tables also feature two hardwood cross support beams
to guarantee proper slate support and enhance table weight
& stability. Buckhorn cabinets are warrantied
for LIFE*
Cushion Rubber
Buckhorn Billiards uses only the finest gum rubber cushions. Our cushions feature control fabric on the top and back of the cushion rubber. This combined with a live air space behind the cushion ensure perfect ball response and long life. Buckhorn cushions are warrantied for LIFE*
Legs - Leg Mounts
Buckhorn legs are constructed for a lifetime of use. We mount our legs directly to the cabinet using a air-nailed and glued leg mount. This forms the foundation of a great pool table. Buckhorn Legs are warrantied for LIFE*
Top Rail
Buckhorn’s top rail is securely attached through the slate
directly into the cabinet assembly with 5 heavy-duty threaded
bolts per rail section, insted of the industry standard of
three (7' tables feature a 3 bolt rail assembly). Our exclusive
design provides optimal tension for the industries best playing
table. Buckhorn rails are warrantied for LIFE*
Pockets
Buckhorn Billiards feature pockets from RC Designs. RC Designs is the recognized leader in the industry for quality, durable pockets. A wide selection of all top-grain leather pockets is available.

U.S. Made vs. Import Pool Tables
When shopping for a pool table (or most furniture) it is important to buy products manufactured in the U.S.A. Not only does it help support the economy, but it is a major indicator that you invested in a product with superior construction.
U.S. made product is manufactured with a true lifetime of use in mind and the table is constructed with beauty and durability in mind. Most import tables are mass produced with shipping size and weight as a primary consideration.
Please note that lifetime warranties are only as good as a manufacturer’s ability to honor them. A U.S. manufacturer can usually repair and perfectly match any component of your pool table, should it become necessary. Import components are often similar only and lead time to repair can be overwhelming, if a product match can be found at all.
When trying to learn where a product is manufactured there are three points to remember:
1) Ask where the product is actually manufactured, not where it is warehoused or “built” for distribution.
2) A trademark of U.S. made product will be a wide variety of stain options and the ability to create/match stains per your specifications. Import tables often come in a maximum of 4 or 5 different stains.
3) The presence of “American” or “USA” in a companies name does not guarantee a product is manufactured in the U.S or that the company is based in the U.S.
